Wait For The Sunrise

Have you ever thought that without God, the Bible is just a collection of ancient mythologies and amped-up historical accounts? Without God, Jesus is just a guy who lived a good life and with some great things attributed to him? Everything about our lives, as Christians, hinges on the existence of God. I am so glad He is God and He is exists.
During Thanksgiving my family had the opportunity to go to the beach. I love to visit the beach. There are so many new things I discover when I get to walk the seashore. This year I was able to fish and I was excited every time I reeled in because I never knew what I was going to pull in. I caught Spots, Sea Trout, and Sharks. I loved every minute of it.
One morning I woke up early and I went out to the beach and I watched the sun rise. (The picture is the actual sunrise." It was an awesome experience. I saw so many colors in the sky, pinks, purples and oranges. I saw God’s beautiful creation. I love sunrises and sunsets, but this one in particular took my breath away. It was an amazing sight and I knew God painted it just for me that morning.
There have been very tough times in my life and when David wrote his Psalm he was definitely having a hard time in his. In Psalm 8 he said, “O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.” “When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?”
Why would the Creator, think about me? Why would He care for me? Why would He paint a sunrise for me? Why would He send His son to die for me? Yes, if God did not exist then there would be no need for the Bible, no need for Jesus , and no need for Jesus to die for me. But because He lives, He created me, so He could love me. He created you to love you! Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives you can face today, tomorrow, next week, and even next year.
When I was out on the beach it was dark, but then the sun arose. The light of the rising sun pierced the darkness. Because of Him I have hope in this dark world. Even in the darkest times of my life I am covered in His light. He is my sunrise. He is my hope. If you are out there struggling today, know He desires to be your sunrise. Luke 1: 78-79 says, “Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”
Hang on! The morning light is coming. Don’t give in or give up. Jesus is the Sunrise. The sunrise reminds me of a new day, new chances and new hours to make good decisions. If you are in a dark place now, please know morning is coming. Tests, troubles, and trials come to everyone. I proudly proclaim today, Jesus is my Sunrise!
God sent his son, they called him Jesus,
He came to love, heal and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my savior lives.
Because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because i know he holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because he lives
Hang on! The Sunrise is coming!
